BOARD MEMBERS – INTRODUCTION DETAILS
Mr. Ray Foley (Board Chair)
Mr. Foley is based in Launceston and has been a member of the National Trust in Tasmania for more than 30 years. From 1986-1988 he served as State President and a Board Member of the Australian Council of National Trusts. He was a member of the National Trust Government Advisory Committee 2005-2006 and more recently is the Chair of the Clarendon Committee.
Mr. Andrew Kemp (Dep. Chair)
Andrew G. Kemp AM FCPA FAICD has had wide public, private and not-for-profit company director experience.
His business involvement has been in timber milling, brick manufacturing, hardware retailing, forest industries, primary industries and seaport and airport operations.
He chaired a review of local government in Tasmania.
His is a past-Director of the Tasmanian Community Fund, a Director of May Queen Pty. Ltd., Chairman of the St. David’s Cathedral Foundation and is Honorary Consul for Finland in Tasmania.
He chaired the National Trust of Australia (Tasmania) Government Advisory Council and is passionate about creating a greater understanding and appreciation of Tasmania’s rich and diverse cultural heritage.
Dr. Marion Myhill
Dr Marion Myhill FRSA, MAICD is an academic with extensive experience on not-for-profit boards and in heritage education. She has been a member of the National Trust in Tasmania for many years, serving in various local, regional and state roles including State President (2000-2003). She was also a Director of the Australian Council of National Trusts and a member of the National Trust of Australia (Tasmania) Government Advisory Council.
She has been chair of the board of a Tasmanian independent school as well as of similar organisations in another state. She is based in Launceston, was educated in Hobart, and has lived, worked and travelled extensively in Australia and overseas. She continues to pursue a passionate interest in heritage and particularly in heritage education.
For her services to a range of Tasmanian community organisations she was inducted into the Tasmanian Honour Roll of Women in 2006.
Mr. Ian Cordiner
Ian Cordiner BSc(Eng.) FIEA FAIDC has worked internationally in heavy construction and then strategic consulting with McKinsey & Co before broader management roles.
He was General Manager Tasmania for Henry Jones (IXL) Ltd; later becoming Managing Director of a co-operative food cannery in South Australia and then General Manager Administration of ANL. In 1985, he co-founded the executive search firm Amrop Cordiner King and was a Director of the global Amrop group.
In addition to various company director roles, he has been Treasurer of the RAOU, on the board of the AG&W Research and Development Corporation and a community bank in Central Victoria.
Dr. Dianne Snowden
Dr. Snowden is a professional historian and genealogist based in Richmond and has served on the Tasmanian Heritage Council including as Interim Chair. She has extensive involvement in a range of volunteer organisations such as the Association for Children with Disability, the Tasmanian Historical Research Association and is currently vice-president of the Coal River Valley Historical Society.
Mrs. Lynne Stacpoole
Based in Launceston, Mrs. Stacpoole has been a Company Director of Stacpoole Enterprises Pty. Ltd. a state-wide family business, for over 30 years. She has had strong volunteer, cultural and community involvement over the last decade, including being an art guide, President & Immediate Past President of the Friends of the QVMAG and treasurer of the Australian Decorative Fine Arts Society Launceston.
Mr. Chris Tassell (Managing Director)
Mr. Tassell was Director of the Queen Victoria Museum, Launceston for 28 years, during which time he led the Museum in a massive transformation. Mr. Tassell has been awarded the Order of Australia and Centenary
