Penitentiary Chapel Historic Site Appeal

Aims: Conservation, maintenance and development of Penitentiary Chapel Historic Site its grounds and collections
Address: Corner Brisbane and Campbell Street, Hobart
Heritage Significance:

Built in 1831, designed by prominent architect John Lee Archer as a Chapel for the Prisoner’s Barracks.
Penitentiary Chapel Historic Site is one of the few examples of Georgian ecclesiastical Architecture. Two wings were converted in 1860 for Criminal Courts
