Runnymede features a number of pieces of Tasmanian made furniture as well as some fine examples of English 19th century furnishings.
- Florentine cabinet
This Florentine specimen cabinet dates to the late 17th or early 18th century and was used to house specimens or collections. The central door opens to a miniature temple with ebony and ivory floor and gilded columns with mirrors to display a piece of renaissance ivory or reliquary . A closer look is here 
- Papier mache table.
Papier was popular during the 19th century and was used to decorate tables, chairs and other functional pieces of furniture. Runnymede has a number of papier mache objects including tables, chairs, a barometer, writing slope and tray. This occasional table has extensive mother-of pearl inlay and a central garland of painted flowers. A closer look is her

This was made in Tasmania by William Champion who was a Hobart hotel owner.
